Turn a car into a brick model
Brickalike can rebuild a car as a brick model. A toy car or a scale model scans well with your phone, and for a real car you can import a 3D file. Preview it in 3D for free, check the brick count, then print it.
How it works
- A toy car or scale model: scan it: Put it on a plain surface and use Scan it with your camera. Take an empty background shot, then turn the car slowly. It runs in your browser and the photos stay on your phone.
- A real car or a design: import a 3D file: Import a GLB, glTF, OBJ or STL (up to 80 MB and 1.5 million triangles), for example a model you downloaded, exported from a design tool or scanned with Polycam or Scaniverse.
- Choose the size: Cars need more detail than blobs do. Try 40 studs or more for the length, and switch to thinner plates for smoother curves. The brick count updates as you go.
Tips for a better result
- Matte models scan far better than shiny paint and glass.
- Choose thinner plates for rounder bodywork.
- Hollow it out to use fewer bricks.
- Pick easy-to-buy colours if you want to build it from real bricks.
Questions
Will the wheels turn?
No. The model is one solid brick shape. It is a display model, not a mechanical one.
Can I use a 3D file of a real car?
Yes. Import a GLB, glTF, OBJ or STL up to 80 MB.
